Randomness....

I don't have anything profound to say. Just wanted to share some random thoughts.

-I am tired of hearing about the election. I never thought I'd say this, but I miss regular TV commercials. I know this is an important election year, and I have every intention of voting. In fact, K and I have already requested absentee ballots so we don't have to stand in line. However, I'll be completely relieved when the election itself is over.

-It's only 42 days until Thanksgiving (70 days until Christmas). Does anyone else feel as if the holidays snuck up on them this year? I love both holidays, but I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving this year. I have so much to be thankful for.

-My to-do list is getting longer and longer. I have so much to do before baby K arrives. Unfortunately, every day when I get home all I want to do is lay down. We have to put up the border for his room, clean out the closet, register...will I get all of this done before his arrival--especially with the holiday's approaching?

-I had a doctor's appt on Tues. Everything is good. I'm still not drinking enough water. What's new? If you're not a water drinker (like me) how do you manage to get enough liquids to stay well hydrated? I've been having some light-headedness and tunnel vision which Dr. R says is related to my hydration. So as I type, I'm trying to manage to chug my water bottle. Yuck!

-I read this in my devotional this morning and I thought I would share it. It is from Breaking Free by Beth Moore:

"God is not a man who lies, or the son of man who changes His mind. Does He speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill?" Numbers 23:19

"Can you think of a time when God proved unworthy of your confidence? If we think we've discovered unfaithfulness in God, I believe one of three things has happened: 1) we misinterpreted the promise, 2)we missed the answer, or 3) we gave up before God timed His response.

We must simply keep believeing Him, because unbelief is crippling, casting huge obstacles in the way of a victorious life. The steps we take forward with God, we take through faith. This doesn't mean He asks us to believe in our ability to exercise unwavering faith. He merely asks us to believe that He is able."

-Hope you each have a wonderful Thursday if you made it to the end of my randomness.

Amen about the election being o.v.e.r!!!!
I don't deal well with the negative campaign ads.
I will be voting -- just sick of the ugliness that goes along with it all.....
And don't you worry about not getting it all done....I've found lately that I NEVER get it all done. And I have to be ok with that. =)

Thanks for sharing and the encouragement.

I'm so ready for the election stuff to be over too. I hate how opinionated people get (and I hate politics in general, so never great to get all worked up about).

Per the water thing - I've been making a batch of crystal light rasberry ice (or whatever flavor you want) and then I pour about 1/2 to a 1/3 of my water bottle with the crystal ice and the rest with water. I find that a lot easier to get down because it tastes so much better. Good luck!!

I'm sure you can get done what is absolutely necessary and then just get the other stuff done. No worrying, right?

I, too, was going to suggest adding Crystal Light. It's pertty strong so watering it down makes it bearable for me. And I'm amazed at how much water I drink when I flavor it!!!!

I'm with you on the elections. I realize how important this all is, but give me a break! And thanks for the idea of absentee voting. I didn't think about it, but I'll be almost 33 weeks at that point...I'm lucky I can stand up for 5 minutes at a time right now without labored breathing.

Don't stress about getting it all done. It will all fall together or it will fall apart, but either way Baby K will have what he needs. God will provide!

I know...the holidays are fastly approaching...I'm so excited for them though! :)

I drink lots of water but the way I do it is by slicing up lemons, limes, oranges, even cucumbers are nice...as long as I have some sort of fruit slices in it, I can drink it all day. Maybe try that?

Happy to hear that all is well with the baby!!

Beth Moore was just a "recent discovery" for me and she is great in putting the right words to voice out our thoughts or what we have not thought about. Thanks for sharing that!

Re water - Line up your 8 (or more) bottles of water (or some other drinks) and make it a goal to finish them within the day!

I couldn't agree more about wishing the election was over!! I'm so sick of all the commercials and finger pointing...grow up people!

It's very exciting that you're getting the nursery together! My advice is just do what you can when you can. It will all get done, and if it doesn't, K won't notice!! ;o)

Ditto on the Crystal Light. I hate water, and that's the only way I can get it down.

Glad things are doing well, minus the water drinking. Have you tried any of the vitamin waters or other lightly flavored ones? I've found that I like gatorade's G2 drinks. They aren't near as sugary as the regular ones and seem to be mostly water. Just think of how each sip you are able to get you are providing that much more liquid for your blood to keep pumping, for the baby to keep growing. Would a smaller container you fill up more often work better (it will seem half empty quicker) or would a big bubba keg work better because you'll only need 1-2 of those suckers?
